Live Grilling: Bankers Face Congress
Yesterday, UK bank leaders were publicly flayed.
Today, U.S. bank titans face the music, and MSNBC is covering it live.
I tend not to watch these sorts of public meetings. They make me cringe. However, I’m fine with the notion that they serve some sort of healing process. Avid viewers may disagree, countering that public flayings are all about accountability. I’m not sure we get much of that here. I would also bet that we hear far fewer apologies (and far more wordy and legal-sounding explanations) today than viewers across the pond enjoyed yesterday.
